National Life Saving Championship 2009

National Life Saving Championship 2009 – 43rd edition

How far this competition has come, it is already in its 43rd edition running. This event has been around for so long (more than 4 decades) but still the majority of the public in Malaysia doesn’t know or even heard of this event. It is very popular among university students and state associations.

This year will also be the first time that there will be two different formats going on at the same time, the old format, and the new ILS format. 3 events for the old format with 2 categories; boys 13 and above and girls 13 and above. And for the new format there are 8 events with 4 categories; men’s open, women’s open, men’s 40 and above and women’s 40 and above.

It will also be compulsory for all participant to be a Bronze Medal holder in order to race in these events.

Last time Johor were the hosts was way back in 2000 and it was a very well organized event back then with the help of ITTHO. And during that race the LSSJ team got 2nd overall.
